10-9. The Bella Twins
Multiple appearances by Nikki and Brie Bella at SummerSlam have led to speculation that the reality stars are not yet finished with the WWE‘s core programming. The twins were interviewed by Renee Young early in the night, and while the next we saw of them was Brie serving the role of a supportive wife to Daniel Bryan, the pair awkwardly made their way to the ring to congratulate Ronda Rousey on her championship win.
Sure, there was no storyline reason for this, but… friendship?
The image of four women standing in the ring did raise questions as a women’s tag division appears to be building. That speculation was boosted by Dave Meltzer, who reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current planned main event for Evolution is for Rousey to face Nikki Bella.
If this does happen, let’s hope that the Bellas make their way to television sooner rather than later. A main event with the Raw Women’s Champion deserves full-time talent. Thankfully, seeing Brie intervene in Daniel Bryan’s feud with The Miz, it looks like that’s what we’ll be getting. Though it still remains to be seen what role Nikki will take in the coming months.
