Top 3 In WWE: Episode Three

2. NXT Championship Match
Aleister Black (c) vs. Eric Young

Yes, the above is a picture of Aleister Black with Johnny Gargano and not Eric Young. No, it is not a mistake. What you see in that image is what was meant to play out this week but instead, the most despised man in wrestling, Tommaso Ciampa, attacked ‘Johnny Wrestling’ from behind and ended up putting him through a set of tables.

Black witnessed Gargano being taken away in an ambulance and stormed down to the ring to air his grievances. SAnitY appeared at the top of the ramp and after a thought-provoking string of enlightenment, Black cut their leader, Eric Young, off and gave him the scheduled NXT Championship opportunity to shut him up.

Due to SAnitY getting the call-up to SmackDown Live and all the focus being on Killian Dain of late, Young has had little time to shine since NXT TakeOver: WarGames but that didn’t stop him going out with a bang.

Seriously, if you wanted some hard-hitting action, NXT was the one to watch this week. Closing the show as it opened with a brawl for a title, Black and Young kicked the hell out of each other and it was brilliant.

Both men brought their A-game to a match that could easily main event a main roster pay-per-view down the line and with any luck, it will. After a long back-and-forth, however, the ‘Dutch Destroyer’ managed to nail Young with his Black Mass seemingly out of nowhere and picked up the win.

The retaining NXT Champion then gave Young’s cohorts and would-be-attackers the same treatment as a lovely goodbye present and walked away looking like an unstoppable force at the top of the black and yellow mountain.
