Two vintage WWE factions that would totally work today

WWE fans are known to love a good throwback and there could be some exciting new takes on vintage factions set to debut.

With classic fan favorites able to find new life in a brand new era of WWE, there are two specific former factions that could end up being a big hit in 2026.

Taking a look to the past for some ideas for the future, two particular factions from the WWE vault could immediately be able to work with a modern twist.

Right to Censor

One faction that certainly could take the former concept and bring it to new heights in the modern social media landscape is the Right to Censor.

With the original group featuring formerly provocative characters like The Godfather and Val Venis switch up their antics and instead seek to be the moral compass of the WWE under the guidance of leader Steven Richards along with Bull Buchanan and Ivocy, the concept could certainly still work today.

Recently speaking out about having heavily pushed for the return of a Right to Censor-esq character, the former Zoey Stark noted that she had a prominent supporter that remains in the locker room – WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.

With Morgan volunteering to have Stark attempt to ‘censor her’ by posting edited images of her on socials, the idea could actually be amazing with the modern application.

Possibly a faction that could find themselves opposing the scandalous Judgment Day or even tangling with the likes of Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton, there could definitely be a modern spin on the classic group.

Ministry of Darkness

Anchored by the Undertaker, the Attitude Era faction Ministry of Darkness dominated TV particularly with the frightening storyline of the group stalking and terrorizing Stephanie McMahon.

Seeking to seize control over WWE from the rule of Vince McMahon, the original motivation of the spooky and gothic occult themed faction was lost over time — but the original concept could still work today.

Able to incorporate existing WWE talent with slight supernatural elements already into a super group, there could be a fascinating female led alliance with Alexa Bliss, Tatum Paxley and NXT star Shiloh Hill to start.

With the group aiming to potentially take over SmackDown or WWE Raw, there could be new recruits along the way to strengthen the group to take on the likes of Judgment Day or The Vision.

Bringing classic babyface characters to the dark side one-by-one through apparent possession, there could be a really creepy albeit enjoyable way to bring some supernatural fun back to WWE after the departure of the Wyatt Sicks.
