Ah, the graphic actually makes sense this time.
As you can see, the SmackDown team is already complete. Miz and Bryan are co-captains, they both immediately picked Shane as their first choice because HE’S THE BEST IN THE WORLD, Mysterio qualified by defeating Andrade Almas, and Joe by defeating Jeff Hardy.
The Raw team is where it gets interesting.
Baron Corbin named himself team captain, but won’t actually be competing. I assume because he’s lazy. The red side is currently made up of the trio that combated the Shield in recent months, Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler.
Not only does Strowman want to kill Corbin, but all three participants all endured a lot of tension and one-upmanship during their time teaming together. Things could easily break down.
There are two other men to add to the mix, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that those two men will come from the following list:
- Bobby Lashley
- Finn Bálor
- Dean Ambrose
- Elias
- Kurt Angle
PWInsider also reported previously that it would be Lashley and Angle taking those places, and they are probably the most likely of the list all things considered. This is despite Angle being absolutely battered by McIntyre to prevent him from becoming captain in the main event of this week’s Raw.
Corbin hates Elias and Bálor, and Ambrose seems very much preoccupied with tormenting Seth Rollins, and he is presumably far too busy with that to care about brand supremacy.
So, the men’s five-on-five is most likely going to come down to:
Strowman, McIntyre, Ziggler, Lashley and Angle vs. Miz, Bryan, Shane, Mysterio and Joe
Blimey, that sounds very tasty indeed.
