WWE
WWE 2K27 will mark a first as fans get to choose the cover star of the upcoming video game, with the result revealed early next year.
As announced in an official press release, “Club WWE members can cast their vote for one of eight WWE Superstars to appear on a cover of WWE 2K27”.
A date is yet to be revealed for the video game release, although WWE 2K26 was released in March of this year.
Sadly, the vote isn’t an open one whereby any star can be named, with the eight stars as follows:
Bron Breakker
Curiously, Bron Breakker in his own right as opposed to being a member of The Vision.
A two-time Intercontinental Champion and one-half of (and two-time) World Tag Team Champion, Breakker recently faced Oba Femi in a match to determine the “future of WWE”.
Fatal Influence
The only faction on the list, Fatal Influence are Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid. Jayne is the Women’s United States Champion, while Henley & Reid hold the Women’s Tag Team Championship, pretty much sealing them as a dominant faction.
Called up to the main roster in April of this year, Fatal Influence left NXT with Jayne as a two-time NXT Women’s Champion, and Henley as a former Women’s North American Champion.
Je’Von Evans
Called up to the main roster on the Raw on Netflix Anniversary Show back in January, Je’Von Evans was announced as for the show during a commercial break, which could have been the death knell for his push.
Yet to capture a title since signing with the company, Evans has found himself in a high-profile position on the main roster, including getting his first WrestleMania moment in April.
Just 22 years old at the time of writing, there is certainly a bright future ahead for the star.
Oba Femi
The other star to be named the “future of WWE” ahead of the recent match against Bron Breakker, Oba Femi has been an unstoppable force since debuting in NXT back in 2022.
A two-time NXT Champion, Femi’s main roster run so far has seen him retire Brock Lesnar, with the veteran calling the young star “the future” after their SummerSlam match.
Championships may not have factored into Femi’s main roster run so far, but he’s certainly demonstrating a top-star level of talent with every match.
Penta
With a WWE debut in January of last year, Penta is the veteran of the video game cover stars list, fast approaching the twentieth anniversary of his first-ever match back in 2007.
A former WWE Intercontinental Champion, gold has followed Penta wherever he has appeared, including runs as AEW World Tag Team Champion and World Trios Champion.
The September 14 episode of WWE Raw will see Penta face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Sol Ruca
A former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Sol Ruca signed her first deal back in March 2022, going on to debut on NXT Level Up in July of that year.
Having held the NXT North American Championship, Ruca would be called up to the main roster in April of this year, with her first match on Raw being against Liv Morgan. From there, that prestige has continued for the star, with her victory over Becky Lynch at Clash in Italy on May 31 marking the start of a Women’s Intercontinental Championship run that would end with a loss to Raquel Rodriguez fifty-seven days later.
More recently, Ruca won the Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat match, beating Maxxine Dupri and Lyra Valkyria, who was somewhat distracted by the returning Bayley.
Stephanie Vaquer
Under WWE contract since July 2024, Stephanie Vaquer is also a veteran of the professional wrestling world, having competed since around 2009. A NXT Women’s Champion and NXT North American Champion, Vaquer’s main roster run has seen her as a former Women’s World Champion.
A CMLL World Women’s Champion and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, among many other title runs, Vaquer won the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship in 2025 and is likely to add more gold to her tally in the future.
Vaquer has attempted to recapture the Women’s World Championship recently, although Liv Morgan retained. It looks like La Primera is on course to face Becky Lynch given recent tensions between the pair.
Trick Williams
The current WWE United States Champion, Trick Williams recaptured the title from Baron Corbin at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
A two-time NXT Champion and former NXT North American Champion, Williams was called up to the main roster in January, with his first SmackDown match being a victory over Rey Fenix. A feud with Sami Zayn would see Williams secure a WrestleMania moment in April, with Lil Yachty going on to be an occasional associate, including at the recent Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Williams would venture over to TNA Wrestling in 2025, as part of the partnership with WWE, securing the World Championship during his run.
Eight Stars, One Cover
With the fan vote being for the star of “a cover of WWE 2K27”, it indicates that the upcoming video game will see more than one cover star revealed early next year.
WWE 2K26 had four editions when it was released in March of this year: the standard edition, featuring CM Punk as the cover star; the King of Kings Edition, featuring Triple H; the Attitude Era Edition, with a montage of stars from that era; and the Monday Night War Edition.
