WWE Backlash 2018: Betting Trends

May 1 (After Raw and Smackdown)

Daniel Bryan (-250) vs. Big Cass (+175)

Nia Jax (-400) vs. Alexa Bliss (+275)

Carmella (-120) vs. Charlotte Flair (-120)

Seth Rollins (-400) vs. The Miz (+275)

Roman Reigns (-250) vs. Samoa Joe (+175)

AJ Styles (+110) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (-150)

Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman (-800) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (+450)

Kevin’s Thoughts: Big Cass is going in reverse. He opened at +137.5 and now sits at +175. Everything in me still feels like this could be a good upset pick. However, similar to my logic on Carmella/Charlotte from a few days ago, it’s possible Big Cass dominates Bryan but gets DQ’d along the way. Shinsuke Nakamura has opened as a slight favorite over AJ Styles. He was strongly favorited at WrestleMania 34 (-495) but closed as the underdog at Greatest Royal Rumble (+137.5). I’m not sure what happens with him if he loses here. This feels like his time. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman all open up as pretty heavy favorites. I do have my eye on that Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman team. A heel turn for Bobby Lashley could lead to a good story for Strowman heading into SummerSlam. That’s another match that has my eye.
