Kairi Sane vs. Nikki Cross vs. Candice LeRae
This was always going to be a good bout. You have former-challenger Nikki Cross on her way out. Then there’s newbie Candice LeRae who is still trying to get a foothold in the division. But at the end of the day, the great Kairi Sane, who holds a victory over current NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, took the win as she should have and will go on to challenge the ‘Queen of Spades’ for the title.
The three battled fiercely for the opportunity at the championship while Baszler herself brilliantly sat on commentary reminding us that it didn’t matter who won. It didn’t matter who would be facing her next because they’re all just bodies and bodies are submissions waiting to happen. Great stuff from the champ. There were some awesome near-falls and the finish was just perfect. I can’t wait to see Sane face-off against Baszler again and maybe even become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
