WWE Matches Of The Week #9

WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament
Night Two
Number One Contender’s Fatal Four-way
Travis Banks vs. Morgan Webster vs. Mark Andrews vs. Noam Dar

Noam Dar is back and I could not be happier! He started the match with fire, launching himself at Mark Andrews as soon as the bell rang. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of watching Dar kick the legs out from underneath people. It just looks so vicious.

Considering the talent in the ring, this was always going to be great but the action was consistently face-paced. Always entertaining with momentum constantly changing. Fatal four-ways can often be a complete mess but these four held it together and made sure it worked. My only complaint is that it ended too soon.

WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament
Night Two
Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. Velveteen Dream & EC3

“This is awesome!” chants before a single move was made. This match was heavily focused on mind games and callbacks and it was brilliant. One day, all four of these guys will be on the main roster getting into it with the likes of Finn Bálor, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe and so many others. If Roman Reigns is still The (force-upon) Guy when that time comes, I think I’ll have to be done.

This match, although nothing blockbuster, was put together to be the best it could be and it delivered so well. There was a great spot where Ricochet was prone on the outside and Dream climbed to the top. He then just got down for some great heat. I’m always so excited to see more from this lot and even EC3 has finally won me over.

Dream and the ‘Top One Percent’ seemed to be getting along swimmingly but things soon broke down and the former left the latter to fade to black. Whether this will set up something down the line is yet to be seen. It may be a great way to pull a legitimate Velveteen Dream face turn though… not sure how I feel about that.
