Night One
Tournament Final/Number One Contender’s Match
Zack Gibson vs. Travis Banks

It’s always good when the finale of a tournament is the best match. These two both deserved to make it to the end and did themselves proud. With Banks’ left shoulder tapped up from a previous assault, Gibson had a clear target. His submission finisher, Shankly Gates (a grounded wrist lock which targets the shoulder), saw off everyone who had stepped to him on his way to the final so Banks was in trouble.

That didn’t stop the ‘Kiwi Buzzsaw’ lighting a fire within himself to take the fight to Gibson. It was, admittedly, an interesting site to see a UK orientated final when the UK guy was the most hated man in the room. Maybe WWE should take a little note from this and realize that the “foreign heel” gimmick is simply a joke these days if not disrespectful.

Night Two
NXT Tag Team Championship
Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) (c) vs. Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven)

Look who’s back with another outstanding match to kick off Night Two of the WWE UK Championship Tournament. Like the night before, these four put on an absolute barnstormer. Both teams work so well together and pulled off some great tandem offense throughout.

They work so fluently as opponents and really set the standard for the rest of the night. All the classic spots such as Bate’s right fist high, left hook bop were hit but always in creative ways. The finish came after some great tag team action that had the audience on their feet. Moustache Mountain actually put away the Undisputed Era to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions which no one saw coming. It sparked one of the biggest pops of the night and the Brits went off into the crowd to celebrate.
