7 WWE NXT Call-Ups For The 2024 WWE Draft

7 WWE NXT Call-Ups For The 2024 WWE Draft WWE

Perhaps the most anticipated part of WWE’s yearly draft is finding out which stars from NXT will make their way up the company’s main roster.

Admittedly, with NXT’s growth and abundance of main roster talent, as well as young stars that feature on the show, the term ‘NXT call-up’ is becoming less and less true.

One of the hallmark’s of Triple H’s WWE has been in establishing NXT as less a developmental brand and more a third brand – something that seems likely to continue in the draft with the potential for main roster stars to be drafted to Tuesday nights.

However, with that said we all know that Raw and SmackDown are where the big stars compete, and some NXT talent are chomping at the bit to get a proper shot on either.

So, we’re going to run down seven NXT acts that are most likely to get called up to Raw or SmackDown at this year’s draft.

7. Carmelo Hayes – Raw

If there was ever a lock for Raw or SmackDown in this year’s WWE Draft it would have to be HIM.

Carmelo Hayes seemingly just got finished up with NXT on this week’s episode after losing once again to his long-time ally turned rival Trick Williams in a steel cage match.

While the stipulation of that match suggested it was Trick who may depart the gold brand, instead it seems as if he will first embark on a run as NXT Champion, while his old friend Melo likely heads to Raw or SmackDown in a weeks time.

This is the correct call as Trick is the one who needs a bit more seasoning in NXT, while Melo has done it all on the brand and is more than main roster ready from an in-ring standpoint.

As for which brand, it’s obviously a toss-up. However, given his status as a heel, I could see a more straight forward path towards the mid-card title scene on the red brand rather than blue. Especially if Sami Zayn holds onto it.
