Since its introduction in October 2024, WWE ID has grown to have its own championships, with stars also appearing on Evolve.
WWE ID was announced on October 29, 2024, with its purpose being “a first-of-its-kind developmental program designed to provide up-and-coming independent wrestlers a pathway to a potential career in WWE.”
The following year, WWE Evolve would come into existence, with NXT and ID stars featuring on the development show.
Having previously covered men’s WWE ID & Evolve Champions, let’s see what happened to the members of the women’s roster to hold the titles:
Kali Armstrong – WWE Evolve Women’s Champion: May 28, 2025 – October 15, 2025
Recognized as the champion for 139 days, Kali Armstrong was the first star to hold the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship.
Signed since October 2023, it would be at NXT Revenge in April of this year that the star be moved to that brand’s roster.
Kendal Grey – Evolve Women’s Champion: October 15, 2025 – March 11, 2026
Having defeated Armstrong at Evolve: Succession, Kendal Grey’s title reign would end after a recognized 146 days with the title vacated as she had been called up to NXT.
A product of the NIL (Next in Line) program, Grey signed with WWE in January 2023, and has since held the NXT Women’s Championship.
At the time of writing, the star is out of action for the foreseeable future due to suffering an injury during her August 4 match against Lola Vice on NXT. The match saw Grey bleeding from the ear, with reports emerging that she had sustained a laceration resulting in vertigo.
Wendy Choo – Evolve Women’s Champion: April 15, 2026 – June 24, 2026
With the title vacating, it would be Wendy Choo who claimed it, pinning Nikkita Lyons in an eight-woman Gauntlet match aired on April 15.
Choo signed with WWE in February 2019 and was a fixture on NXT and its house show circuit, as well as Evolve. She was one of a number of stars to be released from her contract in September of this year.
Nikkita Lyons – Evolve Women’s Champion: June 24, 2026 – current
Defeating Wendy Choo at Evolve: Succession III, Nikkita Lyons picked up her first title since signing with WWE in 2021.
Featuring on NXT, Lyons continues to appear on house shows and competing in season three of WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats) earlier this year.
Kylie Rae – WWE ID Women’s Champion: August 1, 2025 – September 22, 2025
Having made previous appearances in WWE, including a period under the name Briana Ray, Kylie Rae would sign under the WWE ID program in November 2024, going on to be the first ID Women’s Champion.
It was a title that she would vacate in September 2025, almost two months since she won it, due to pregnancy. The following month, her WWE ID contract would expire without being renewed.
Laynie Luck – ID Women’s Champion: November 17, 2025 – October 3, 2026
The longest-reigning ID Women’s Champion to date, Luck’s run started with a victory in a six-woman elimination match and saw the independent star secure a contract under the independent wrestler developmental program as a result.
Losing the title is unlikely to slow down Luck, with the star currently holding the Gateway Heritage Championship and being a United Glory Tag Team Champion with Shazza McKenzie, her teammate in The Collab.
Monica Monroe – ID Women’s Champion: October 3, 2026 to current
The ROW Women’s Champion, Monica Monroe faced Laynie Luck at ROW Platinum: Rise to Wrestling Royalty on October 3 to capture the ID Women’s Championship.
The win also saw Monroe land a WWE ID contract, with the star already eyeing a record-breaking run, hoping to eclipse Luck’s 320-reign.
