The July 18 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event could offer a night of surprises for the fans in attendance at Madison Square Garden.

While the company has announced a compelling card, there could be a number of shocking moments that the fans will not forget.

From returning stars to storyline developments, these surprises will alter the road to WWE SummerSlam 2026 in just a few short weeks time.

Here are six potential surprises at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

6. Nikki Bella’s Return

At WWE WrestleMania 42 night one, Paige replaced Nikki Bella to team with Brie Bella to defeat The Irresistible Forces, Bayley & Lyra Valkyria, and Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

The July 18 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will take place just a few minutes away from the site of this year’s Fanatics Fest.

The convention will feature Nikki Bella as one of the WWE stars for the fans to meet during the festival.

Considering recent reports of the WWE Hall of Famer being healthy and discussed in creative plans, Nikki Bella could make her return at Saturday Night’s Main Event to even the odds for Brie and Paige against Fatal Influence.

5. The Bella Twins Betray Paige

Speaking of Nikki Bella, things could come to a head when it comes to the partnership between Paige and Brie Bella.

At the July 18 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Paige and Brie will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Fatal Influence.

Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid might have what it takes to overcome the champions and bring the titles back to Fatal Influence.

If that in fact happens, The Bella Twins should choose to reunite and kick Paige to the curb coming off the heels of SNME.

4. Lyra Valkyria Debuts A Brand New Look Against Bayley

On the June 22 episode of Monday Night Raw, Paige and Brie Bella defeated Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

After the bout, Valkyria snapped and betrayed Bayley with a vicious assault that split their tag team.

This now sets the stage for Valkyria facing Bayley in a grudge match at the July 28 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Considering the visual changes for the former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion as of late, this SNME show could see Lyra debut a brand new look that goes along with her character change.

3. Trick Williams Issues Impromptu United States Championship Challenge For Baron Corbin

On the July 10 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Baron Corbin returned to interfere in the Trick Williams vs Carmelo Hayes non-title bout.

Corbin made his presence felt by taking out both Williams and Hayes with his End of Days finisher.

Now that he is back in the promotion, it feels like Corbin will be targeted by the current United States Champion.

Trick issuing an impromptu US Title challenge to Corbin would make for an interesting championship bout on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event card.

2. Nick Aldis Costs GUNTHER His Tag Team Match With Sami Zayn Against CM Punk & Cody Rhodes

On the July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk defeated Sami Zayn to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Then on the July 10 SmackDown, Punk set the stage for a showdown with Cody Rhodes at the WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event.

After making an angry ultimatum to the SmackDown General Manager, GUNTHER was let down by Aldis announcing that he will team with Sami Zayn to face Punk and Rhodes at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Following the vicious assault that ‘The Ring General’ delivered to Aldis, fans might see the current SmackDown GM return to cost GUNTHER and Zayn their tag bout against Punk and Rhodes on July 18.

1. Cody Rhodes Turns Heel On CM Punk

For the past several months, Cody Rhodes has been showing more and more signs of an apparent heel turn looming.

Over the course of his past few rivalries, Rhodes has used certain tactics or won in less honorable ways quite a few times.

‘The American Nightmare’ turning heel could make things extremely interesting in the build to his WWE SummerSlam 2026 battle with Punk.

To tell a more coherent story between the two men heading into SummerSlam, Rhodes might turn heel and look to take out his frustrations with losing the Undisputed WWE Championship out on Punk.
