WWE’s Jacob Fatu has opened up on if he thinks WWE should have signed him earlier in his career two years after his debut.

In the Summer of 2024, the Bloodline were taken up a notch in WWE with the arrival of Jacob Fatu, who joined forces with Solo Sikoa’s new Bloodline after WrestleMania 40.

In the two years since his debut, Jacob has become one of the most popular stars on the roster, with him recently being forced to rejoin the Bloodline after his loss to Roman Reigns.

Jacob appeared on Hot 97 ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he commented on his journey to WWE after grinding on the independents.

He said:

“I was over there on the independents, it took me 12 years to get over here. You know what, they’re like ‘Jacob you should have been there five years ago’. No, no, no, because I was still learning.

“The difference between me is I was still right here on the block trying to figure out my life, but we turned that thing around, flipped it around.”

“I remember my wife, I was having a bad day. I’m never cussing out a fan, I’d never do that, because my wife had to humble me ‘hey man, remember when nobody knew your ass’.

“One thing that really hit me was like ‘hey, treat people good’. I’m not saying I’m being an a**hole, if you see me online y’all know I’m always good to people. But she was like ‘I know no matter what you’re going through, you’re in another light. You don’t want our kids to recognize somebody, walk up to them, and they’re so happy to see them and they s**t on them’.

“I’m not saying I was s**tting, but it changed my perspective and my view. So now when they see me, off top I’m loving. I ain’t even tripping, because I remember not being s**t, and I’ll never forget when my wife was like ‘hey, remember when yo ass wanted somebody to recognise yo ass’.”

Jacob Fatu Addresses Boundaries Between Fans & Wrestlers

Jacob would then open up on the boundaries for wrestling fans and wrestlers, saying that while he will always make time for the kids, he gets frustration of wrestlers being approached while at the hotel.

He said:

“This goes back to the dude with Meta Glasses at the airport. The homie came up, and I’m with my son, it’s 4 in the morning, I’m trying to get him together, make sure everything right on the flight. He come up like ‘you Jacob Fatu?’ I just look, I’ve got my stunners, my hair covered, ‘nah’.

“Then he was like ‘mind if I get a picture’. I was like ‘I’m just with my son right now’, but then it came online in my head when he said it, I was like ‘damn bruh, I’m just not feeling it’. But you gotta do the right thing no matter what you feeling, we’re in another light now.

“I will never just s**t on somebody like that, because of my children, it just ain’t the right thing to do. Whether it’s my kids or not, this is the type of light we in. I understand if you’re at the hotel, I’m tired and s**t, and you’re coming up, I get it.

“But overall the reaction is good though, I love to see them smile, especially the kids. I’ll stop for the kids, I really will. That’s one thing I give it up to my co-workers, for the women, the guys and my brothers as well, we stop for the kids, we’ve got to.”
