WWE star to become new leader of faction: Two factions which could get taken over

While they have always had their place throughout WWE history, it feels as if factions have become more important than ever under Triple H’s creative regime.

The Bloodline and The Judgment Day especially have been two of the companies biggest successes of this era, and both are still going to this day along with many other groups.

Aside from Roman Reigns in The Bloodline, it’s hard to say with certainty that other top groups in WWE have a firm leader that will remain at the helm until their group’s collapse.

Whether replacing their original leader, or shifting them into a different role, there are many names who could step up and take charge over some of WWE’s top groups.

Here are two WWE stars who could take over existing factions:

Damian Priest – Judgment Day

The Judgment Day are one of WWE’s groups who don’t really have a firm leader, but the closest to that role would have to be Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio.

Despite recently losing her Women’s World Title, Morgan has had a very successful year in 2026 and feels like the most important member of the group, but Dominik has not been pulling his eight quite as much.

Obviously it’s not his fault that he’s booked like a chump on the main roster in comparison to a top star in AAA, so that’s not a slight on Dom himself. However, with the male side of Judgment Day being booked like a comedy act, a change of leadership on that side may be in order.

Judgment Day OG Damian Priest would make for perhaps the best candidate for that role. Now back as a heel for the first time in two years, Priest could return to Raw and attempt to bring his former faction back to prominence, as well as using them to be get back into world title contention in 2027.

Cody Rhodes – BirthRight

With WWE NXT’s BirthRight bringing together some of the companies brightest multigenerational stars, perhaps they need an established name to lead them once they make it onto main roster?

Lexis King has done an excellent job with the group, and while it deserves the chance to make a splash in its current form on Raw or SmackDown, there are also a number of veteran names that could potentially take it to new heights.

If Cody Rhodes’ long-awaited heel turn comes to pass he could bring BirthRight in as his new allies and build upon what King started.

While it would turn them into underlings of Rhodes, BirthRight would be a featured part of what would be the hottest storyline in WWE (Rhodes’ heel turn), so it certainly would only be a positive thing for all involved.
