Chelsea Green has been the WWE Women’s Champion since SummerSlam 2026.
Due to injury, Green has only defended the title successfully once, but she wants to be known as a fighting champion.
Looking at the talent in the SmackDown women’s division, there could be any number of notable stars who might be next to step up for their title opportunity.
Here are four potential next WWE Women’s Championship challengers for Chelsea Green.
Nikki Bella
On the September 18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Nikki Bella confronted WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green to signal she was coming after her title.
Bella is coming off a win over Paige and is the longest reigning WWE Divas Champion in the company’s history.
Green has long stated that she is a huge fan of Total Divas and that era of the company inspired her career.
Nikki Bella being next up for Green would be fitting and could make for a compelling feud.
Paige
At WWE WrestleMania 42, Paige made her return to the company for the first time in four years.
Since making her return, Paige has been mostly featured in a tag team, but The Bella Twins turned on her at SummerSlam 2026.
This now puts Paige on her own and could lead to a singles push in the near future.
Paige challenging Chelsea Green would be a nice contrast in looks and characters if they faced for the WWE Women’s Championship.
Jacy Jayne
Following WWE WrestleMania 42, Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid brought Fatal Influence from the NXT brand to SmackDown.
Since then, Henley and Reid won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, while Jayne went on to capture the WWE Women’s United States Championship.
Jayne has showcased herself to be a future star and someone who can easily fit in the world title picture.
After qualifying for the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match, Jacy Jayne could potentially become a double champion sooner rather than later.
Blake Monroe
Another former WWE NXT star who made their debut following WrestleMania 42 is Blake Monroe.
The former Mariah May made her official debut in June and has gone months without stepping into the ring.
Monroe has let it be known that she wants her first match to matter and wants a championship opportunity.
After taunting and attacking Chelsea Green shortly after her arrival, Monroe could position herself for a WWE Women’s Championship shot to kickstart her main roster run.
