Blake Monroe recently pitched to bring back an iconic WWE gimmick, which would see her retire some notable stars.
In an interview with Emily Mae in August, Blake Monroe stated that she feels if there’s ever going to be a female Legend Killer, it’ll be her.
Following Randy Orton making a name for himself as a star who took out legendary names at the beginning of his year, Monroe named several stars who she would retire, if she was to bring back the gimmick on the main roster.
After being presented as a star in AEW and NXT, a Legend Killer character could be what Monroe needs to propel her to stardom on SmackDown and set her apart from other recent call-ups.
There are four names who Blake Monroe pitched to retire as part of this storyline, including…
Trish Stratus
Blake Monroe pitching a Legend Killer gimmick came directly as a response to being asked about potentially teaming with, or facing off against Trish Stratus.
The former NXT Women’s North American Champion noted that following Stratus’ sporadic returns, she feels like she could be the one to retire the Hall of Famer for good.
Trish Stratus last wrestled at Evolution in July 2025, losing to WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton in her third and final match of the year.
With the Hall of Famer recently indicating that she will only return to WWE if the timing and opportunity both make sense, it would make sense to see Stratus return for a big retirement storyline.
The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie Bella)
Nikki Bella previously stated that she plans to retire from pro-wrestling at the end of 2027, meaning she has a year and some change left as an active wrestler in WWE.
Following Brie Bella’s recent scapula (shoulder blade) injury, it might not be long until “Brie Mode” steps away from the ring as well.
Blake Monroe had previously named Nikki Bella a dream opponent, but specifically named the Bella Twins as stars she could end the careers of as the female Legend Killer.
Nikki Bella previously called for a match against Blake Monroe while the former “Mariah May” was still in NXT, so regardless of stipulation, it feels like a Monroe vs Bella rivalry could happen before Nikki steps away.
Paige
Paige made her WWE return at WrestleMania 42, replacing Nikki Bella and teaming with Brie to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The former Divas Champion has remained active since then, most recently facing Nikki Bella on the September 11 SmackDown episode.
The last star who Blake Monroe pitched retiring, it will be interesting to see how much longer Paige plans to wrestle, with the star wrestling regularly since returning to WWE.
Paige previously stated that she doesn’t think she will be wrestling after this current WWE run, indicating that she is thinking about retirement.
