WWE stars to turn heel at Money in the Bank 2026: Two major betrayals we could see in New Orleans

The 2026 WWE Money in the Bank premium live event is taking shape, with half of the field for the women’s and men’s ladder matches confirmed, as well as the show’s main event – which pits Roman Reigns against LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship.

While matches are what sell a PLE to an audience, what often gets them talking afterwards are the surprise moments, for example heel and babyface turns.

With last year’s Money in the Bank event seeing Jacob Fatu turn babyface when he cost Solo Sikoa a guaranteed world title opportunity, this year could see a significant heel turn take place.

Here are two potential heel turns at WWE Money in the Bank 2026.

Tiffany Stratton

As confirmed on this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown (September 18), Tiffany Stratton will get an opportunity to qualify for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match; presumably next week on SmackDown, although this has not yet been stated.

When Stratton told her tag team partner Chelsea Green about this, the WWE Women’s Champion expressed support for Tiffy winning the briefcase so they could both hold world championship gold together.

Those who have watched pro wrestling for a considerable amount of time will suspect where this story is actually going however: that is Stratton going against her word and cashing in Money in the Bank on her friend instead.

If Stratton wins Money in the Bank, it would not be a massive shock to see her cash-in on Green that very same night – something that has only been done a handful of times over the years. What has never been done however, is an immediate cash-in right after the briefcase has been retrieved, but the opportunity is there on October 10.

Green could be at ringside willing Stratton along to victory in the ladder match, and upon joining her in the ring afterwards for her celebration, Tiffy could strike Green with the briefcase and snatch the gold right there and then.

Solo Sikoa

As mentioned, WWE Money in the Bank 2026 is set to be headlined by Roman Reigns’ one-on-one World Heavyweight Title match with LA Knight.

Knight’s opportunity has been a long time coming, and fans are hoping that October 10 is finally the time WWE pulls the trigger on ‘The Megastar’ and he rights the wrongs from his last meeting with ‘The OTC’ three years ago.

What has separated this Roman Reigns title run from his last however, has been his determination to win matches on his own, and not with the help of his family in The Bloodline.

While Reigns is in control of what The Usos and Jacob Fatu do, he cannot however, account for the actions of Solo Sikoa. Sikoa has rebelled against The Bloodline, and refused Roman Reigns’ attempts to bring him back to the family.

Doing so has only helped boost Sikoa’s popularity with the WWE audience, which was already growing as he continued to show more and more of his personality throughout the year. However, as we saw with Jacob Fatu, there is an inevitability to members of the Anoa’i family eventually falling in line and acknowledging Roman Reigns as their Tribal Chief.

Solo costing LA Knight the World Heavyweight Title would somewhat protect ‘The Megastar’ in defeat, but it would also potentially derail the momentum that he has built for himself this year. Needless to say, this one would probably not be advisable, but it is an option for WWE.
