At WWE WrestleMania 42, Paige made her return to the company for the first time in four years.
Since her return, Paige has remained a free agent and was able to appear on both Raw and SmackDown thanks to winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with Brie Bella at Mania.
Now that WWE has officially moved her to the SmackDown roster, it should be intriguing what plans the company has in line for Paige moving forward.
Here are some potential WWE SmackDown plans for Paige.
Completing feud with Nikki Bella
At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night One, Fatal influence defeated Paige and The Bella Twins.
After the match, The Bellas turned on Paige with a two-on-one attack.
Since then, Nikki Bella picked up a win over the former WWE Divas Champion on the September 11 SmackDown.
Following this bout, Paige should be on the hunt for revenge against Nikki at some point.
Forming new tag team with Tatum Paxley
Looking at the SmackDown women’s division, there are some options for Paige to team with down the road.
Following WWE SummerSlam 2026, Tatum Paxley made her main roster debut and aligned with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
While she is trying to form a friendship and partnership with Flair, Paxley might fit in better with someone like Paige.
Based on the similar aesthetic look, Paxley could find the mentor she is in search of in Paige.
Reuniting with AJ Lee
The timing of Paige’s return followed another legend who made their own comeback the year prior.
In 2025, AJ Lee returned to WWE for the first time in over a decade.
Prior to her return, Lee was embroiled in a rivalry with Paige over the WWE Divas Champion and then went on to team with her rival against The Bella Twins in her final WrestleMania match back in 2015.
Paige opening the door for Lee’s return could see a reunion that might become a threat to become future WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Challenging Chelsea Green for the WWE Women’s Championship
At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two, Chelsea Green defeated Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton in a Ladder Match to become the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion.
Green has stated that she wants to prove herself as a fighting champion now that she has the gold.
On the September 18 episode of SmackDown, Nikki Bella confronted Chelsea Green and stated that she intended to challenge for her title.
Considering Nikki has inserted herself in the title picture, Paige may follow her lead and go on to challenge Green for the top prize in the SmackDown women’s scene in the near future.
