CM Punk WWE rematches to take place soon: Three stars who could revisit their rivalries with the former Undisputed Champion

CM Punk has wrestled pretty much everyone who’s anyone in WWE, having first signed with the company in 2005.

Over two decades later, Punk is at the top of the card on SmackDown, only recently losing the Undisputed WWE Championship.

With Punk now finding his footing as a championship contender again rather than a titleholder, we could see him face off against stars who he has a lot of history with on his way back to the top.

From absent stars to other title contenders, there are a number of individuals who could renew personal rivalries with the seven-time world champion.

Here are three CM Punk rematches which could take place soon.

Cody Rhodes

While Cody Rhodes and CM Punk have been butting heads since Punk’s return to the company in late-2023, the duo only recently had their first one-on-one match against one another.

At SummerSlam, CM Punk successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Rhodes, following interference from Randy Orton.

The then-champion told the American Nightmare at a subsequent house show that Rhodes can have a championship rematch any time he wants, following the controversial finish of their August 1 bout.

While Punk is now also chasing the Undisputed WWE Title, a rematch between Punk and Rhodes feels inevitable.

Seth Rollins

CM Punk and Seth Rollins’ rivalry was one of the most intense feuds of the Chicago-native’s career, as recognised by WWE, who awarded it 6th place in its “nastiest rivalries of the 2020s” list.

With the duo not having a one-on-one match since Rollins’ Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam 2025, it’ll only be a matter of time until they share the ring once again.

Both of Rollins and Punk’s in-ring encounters following this featured multiple other parties, with Rollins defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Punk, Jey Uso and LA Knight at Clash in Paris later that month, and Punk & AJ Lee defeating Rollins & Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza that September.

With Seth Rollins recently returning on the house show circuit, it will be interesting to see how long it takes for the two bitter rivals to run into one another again.

Drew McIntyre

Out of every feud that has taken place since the beginning of 2020, WWE named CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre as the “nastiest” during the latest Top 10 video.

While the duo’s Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood 2024 was a fitting end to their one-on-one rivalry, both stars’ proximity to the Undisputed WWE Championship almost guarantees a rematch.

Drew McIntyre held WWE’s top prize for 55 days earlier this year, with Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn separating the Scottish Warrior and CM Punk’s Undisputed Title reigns.

McIntyre has been absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania 42, having filmed for multiple Hollywood movies during his five-month hiatus.

It would make a lot of sense for McIntyre to return to the Undisputed WWE Championship picture, which would result in him crossing paths with CM Punk.
