WWE/Marvel Studios
With Cody Rhodes having visited Marvel Studios recently for unknown reasons, more WWE stars could join him in the MCU.
In late August of this year, Cody Rhodes shared a photo of himself in front of the Marvel Studios sign on Instagram Stories, with the X-Men ’97 theme accompanying the image.
While Rhodes has not revealed why he was visiting the home of the MCU, rumors spread that the star had been cast as Havok, the brother of Cyclops, in the upcoming X-Men movie.
Rhodes will be seen in the live-action Street Fighter movie next month, alongside Roman Reigns, with a move to the MCU not being out of the question for these two, or a number of other, WWE stars:
Logan Paul
Whether he’s a social media influencer or a WWE star, Logan Paul has become a star wherever he goes and the big screen could be his next stop.
Casting Logan Paul as Longshot would bring the character in from the Mojoverse, led by its media-obsessed ruler overseeing a world born to serve him for the ratings. Acrobatic, resilient and with preternatural luck on his side, it’s a character that the WWE star was born to play.
Liv Morgan
With Takashi Miike’s Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo in her filmography, Liv Morgan is another WWE star who could have a bright future in the MCU.
Perhaps there’s an opportunity for the MCU to take the diminutive star, with her bubbly personality and aggressive streak as the live-action Squirrel Girl, a character who was able to best Wolverine (with no claws involved, of course). A resourceful hero, Squirrel Girl wouldn’t look out of place in a future Deadpool movie.
Roman Reigns
The herald of Galactus was brought into the MCU in Fantastic Four: First Steps, with Shalla-Bal being the character to prepare worlds for the coming of their end. Previously, Laurence Fishburne provided the voice for the Silver Surfer in the 2007 movie.
When it comes to voices that carry authority, Roman Reigns has that going for him, with the star equally comfortable showing kindness as he is a threat. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see the star being the physical embodiment of the Silver Surfer, too, although the hair might get in the way.
Ricky Saints
Channing Tatum finally delivered a performance as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, a role he had been attached to as far back as 2014, with the character returning for Avengers: Doomsday later this year.
The beauty of the MCU, of course, is the multiverse. The idea of another Gambit out there, a charismatic and enigmatic rogue who is a bit of a ladies’ man, would make Ricky Saints a perfect fit for that character.
Likely not a character to include in the first MCU X-Men movie, there’s going to be opportunity in the future in the inevitable sequels and spin-offs.
Charlotte Flair
Athletic, a formidable opponent and an expert in a whole range of combat techniques, Silver Sable is a mercenary who has crossed paths with Spider-Man on a number of occasions.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day brought Punisher, Black Widow and William Metzger to the franchise, indicating that the movie makers are willing to explore darker characters, and Silver Sable would be a solid addition.
An elegant yet dangerous character with a suitably cold edge where necessary, Charlotte Flair could embody everything about the mercenary, from her position as head of Silver Sable International through to the street-level aggression.
The End Of Phase Six
Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027, marks the end of Phase 6 for the MCU, a somewhat uneven era for the ever-expanding franchise.
With the X-Men Movie, Ghost Rider, Black Panther 3, and more no doubt to be announced for 2028 and beyond, there’ll be a whole slate of stars needed to fill the big-screen roles and plenty of opportunity for WWE names to be among those in the running.
