AEW star AR Fox has opened up about training Austin Theory, discussing Theory’s recent success in WWE.
Theory has received a considerable push since officially joining the WWE main roster in 2021.
Following an onscreen partnership with Vince McMahon under the previous WWE regime, Theory has been presented as a rising star in the Triple H era of WWE, with the 25 year old currently holding the US Championship.
Speaking on AEW Unrestricted, AR Fox, a current AEW star who previously who trained Theory, weighed in on Theory’s current WWE run:
“We talk all the time and it’s just mind blowing. He’s happy to be there. It’s crazy. He got me front row tickets to his Mania match against Pat McAfee and he ended up getting a stunner by Stone Cold.
“We stood outside one arena where WrestleMania was being held one year and took a picture, and like five years later, he was on of the big billboards on that same arena. I’m just too proud. It’s just crazy.
“We still talk a lot and it’s always exciting when we talk. I’m kind of amazed because I knew he would do good, but he is doing really good. Main events, long main events where he’s in control of top guys and beating them up.
“I’m just like, you know, that’s pretty crazy if you think about it, and he’s closing segments a lot. Like, this is crazy.”
Theory will defend the US Championship in an Elimination Chamber match at this weekend’s premium live event.
