AEW Star Reveals If He Considered Joining WWE AEW

An AEW star has revealed whether he considered joining WWE, specifically when someone very close to him did exactly that.

AEW’s Dustin Rhodes is happy in AEW and has revisited previous comments about retiring from the wrestling ring.

Under his previous AEW deal, Rhodes had stated he wanted to walk away from the wrestling business while he “can still walk.

During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Rhodes touched upon the topic of planning a final match once again, saying:

“No. I did last year, a little bit. It’s one of those things I need to sit down and think about this type of conversation with myself and weigh the cons and the pros. Not yet. I would say, two to three years, maybe.”

He would also address his feelings about working in AEW, with Van Vliet asking if he’d thought of leaving when Cody did, saying:

“No, I’m happy there. I’m very happy in AEW and it’s a good place for me. We’re growing, we’re doing some wonderful things, business is up, everything is great.

“It’s a different style over there as it is WWE. We have some of the greatest professional wrestlers on the planet in that company and it is special to watch them even to have a chance to step in the ring with him.

“My God, there’s some good talent there. They do some amazing stuff, just incredible stuff, like different category stuff.”

Dustin Rhodes has recently confirmed his love for AEW on social media after a fan suggested he should leave the company.

On the topic of Cody’s decision to leave AEW, Dustin Rhodes revealed he didn’t think his younger brother would do it.

Dustin did, however, state that he made a “very smart decision” and Cody has “created something really cool”.

He has also recently discussed his relationship with his younger brother, explaining that they “learn a lot from each other.”

It was a sentiment seemingly shared by Charlotte Flair, who recently commented that Rhodes “knew he deserved more“.

Dustin Rhodes recently faced Samoa Joe on the April 10 episode of AEW Dynamite in a match that saw Rhodes requiring stitches.
