Another week has gone by and another set of AEW Dynamite and NXT ratings have been revealed. Although it is much closer than it has been in recent weeks, All Elite Wrestling has once again topped NXT.
Bryan Alvarez reported the numbers on Twitter earlier today.
AEW: 730,000
NXT: 715,000— Bryan Alvarez (@bryanalvarez) June 4, 2020
As the report says, Dynamite garnered an average of 730,000 viewers. Meanwhile, NXT sits just behind them at 715,000 average viewers.
All Elite Wrestling dropped significantly in the ratings from last week. Last week’s viewership saw them garner 827,000 viewers, 97,000 more than this week. The primary cause would have to be the increase in news being watched by those in AEW’s key demographic. With the Black Lives Matter protests continuing to be a major story across the United States, many people chose not to tune in this week.
This is somewhat unfortunate because AEW was able to have a really good show. They showcased Jungle Boy in a main event match with Cody, FTR got an interview with Tony Schiavone, Hangman Page was back in action, it was a packed show.
NXT only dropped 15,000 from last week’s number of 730,000 viewers. This was their go-home show for NXT Takeover: In Your House so they made sure to cue up the storylines for the big marquee matches. The show also featured the finals of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament and the return of Breezango.
