Top AEW Star Confirms Injury At Forbidden Door 2023 AEW

A top star has confirmed that they sustained an injury during tonight’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

While it hasn’t been quite a year since that other post-pay-per-view AEW media scrum, tonight after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door there was a much more pleasant affair.

However, the scrum did reveal some unpleasant information from the night’s main event winner, Bryan Danielson.

When appearing, he was notably wearing an arm brace and was asked about whether or not he was injured.

At this point Danielson revealed that he and the AEW medical team suspect that his forearm is fractured and he’ll likely be out of action for between six and eight weeks.

Later, when Danielson was asked who else he was hoping to face, he responded that he would like to get another bout with Okada because he wants to fracture Okada’s forearm next time.

Also, shared by Tony Khan in the scrum (and even more impressively given the fact Danielson’s arm is ‘broken’ in his words) this submission from Okada is the first since 2015 when he tapped to Shinsuke Nakamura in the G1 Climax tournament.

When asked more specifics about the injury, Danielson said “the unlikeliest of things,” that just receiving an elbow drop, he didn’t have “his arm in a safe space.”

He had referenced earlier that the injury occurred with plenty of time left in the match so certain things needed to be changed in the moment.
