AEW’s Anthony Ogogo has stated that he’s hopeful that he’ll soon have the opportunity to show the world his true talent.
The former boxer celebrated his birthday on Friday (November 24), which AEW commemorated with a ‘happy birthday’ graphic on Twitter.
Ogogo shared AEW’s post, sharing his hopes for the next 365 days.
The Olympic bronze medallist wrote:
Hopefully this year I’ll be gifted an opportunity to show the wrestling world all of my hard work and my true talent in the squared circle 🎂 🎁 🙏🏽 👊🏽.
Ogogo signed with AEW in October 2019, ahead of his first major rivalry in March 2021, against Cody Rhodes.
Anthony’s most recent televised AEW match saw him defeat Luke Curtis on the September 20, 2022 edition of AEW Dark.
The former boxer went on to appear for several independent promotions during his AEW hiatus, picking up wins for the likes of PROGRESS Wrestling and Warriors Of Wrestling.
While Ogogo has appeared for AEW since, notably representing the UK during the lead-up to AEW All In London 2023, he has yet to make his AEW TV return.
He recently competed in dark matches ahead of episodes of Collision in late-October and early-November.
Hopefully this year I’ll be gifted an opportunity to show the wrestling world all of my hard work and my true talent in the squared circle 🎂 🎁 🙏🏽 👊🏽. https://t.co/9OEGFLGdBh
