After the events of AEW Double or Nothing on May 28, there has been plenty of praise for one member of the women’s roster.
As previously reported, Jamie Hayter dropped the AEW Women’s Championship to the Outcasts member Toni Storm.
Going into AEW Double or Nothing, however, there were concerns that Hayter would not be able to perform due to injuries that had seen her not cleared to wrestle in the week prior to the event.
Fightful Select (subscription required) had recently reported that Hayter’s injuries were legitimate and that “she’s been battling them for the better part of a month.”
With Tony Khan addressing the situation in the pre-Double or Nothing media call by stating that AEW had built a storyline reason for Hayter’s injury, confirming the legitimacy of the injury but also saying that Hayter was intent on having her match at the pay per view, it should come as no surprise that Hayter has been the recipient of backstage praise.
According to PW Insider, there were “a lot of people backstage praising Jamie Hayter for gutting through her back issues to drop the AEW Women’s title to Toni Storm.”
It was also noted by PW Insider that the audience for AEW Double or Nothing was “late arriving with the venue not really filly up until Storm vs Hayter.”
