Mark Briscoe has reacted to Dave Meltzer’s ‘bold’ claim about The Young Bucks on Wrestling Observer Radio.

On WOR, Dave Meltzer said:

“There is no tag team in wrestling, in the last how many years, maybe even ever, but certainly in the last 20 years, there is no tag team in wrestling that is better at carrying people to good matches.

“The things that they have done with Private Party, with Dante & Darius Martin. When these guys were right out of the indies, had never done a big match, and they made both of those teams look like they were the best tag team in wrestling, and teams that in five years were gonna be through the roof.

“And I’m not confident that either of those teams are ever gonna be at that level that they looked like. Private Party still never had a match that good again. The Martins I don’t know they’ve had a match that good.”

Jay Briscoe passed away in January 2023, bringing to an end a tag team that had been at the top of their game for more than twenty years.

They were multi-time champions across multiple promotions, including ROH, GCW, CZW and Impact Wrestling (now TNA Wrestling).

With more than 600 matches under their belt in that time, their legacy saw an outpouring of tributes for Jay from WWE, AEW and independent wrestling stars.

Matt Hardy has recently spoken about The Young Bucks, stating that they are “the Tag Team GOATS“.

Having not been seen on screen since AEW Full Gear, Matt and Nick Jackson returned at AEW Dynamite on January 10, 2024.

They were wordless during their appearance but are now sporting new facial hair in the form of moustaches.

With The Young Bucks teasing involvement in Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution, it has been reported that this is ‘actively the plan‘.
