AEW Name’s Hilarious Reaction To Signing Multi-Year Contract AEW

It was officially announced earlier today that AEW had signed announcer Ian Riccaboni to a multi-year deal.

Riccaboni serves as the lead announcer for ROH on HonorClub, and filled in for Kevin Kelly on last night’s Collision show.

Riccaboni will provide commentary for the next four weeks of Collision while Kelly is away commentating for the G1 Climax for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Riccaboni received a lot of praise for his work on the show, which he did while wearing a big cowboy hat.

Taking to Twitter to react to the news, Riccaboni specified that it was not the hat that got him the job, but if he didn’t already have it, the hat would have helped.

He said:

It wasn’t the hat. It happened before the hat, fwiw.

Although if it hadn’t happened, I’m sure the hat probably would have helped it.

Last night’s Collision featured what will certainly be considered a match of the year contender between Bullet Club Gold and FTR.

The show also saw Ricky Starks and Willow Nightingale be crowned the winners of the 2023 Owen Hart Cup tournaments.
