Jose The Assistant has poked fun at his current status following his departure from All Elite Wrestling.
Jose The Assistant, real name José García, was one of several AEW stars released from their contracts on April 1.
The former AEW star has now taken to Twitter to update his account following his departure.
Instead of reading “JoseTheAssistant”, Jose’s name is now displayed as “JoseTheUnemployed”, confirming that he’s now a free agent.
Jose shared a screenshot of his new Twitter name with the caption:
😅🤷🏻♂️
Jose was previously aligned with La Faccion Ingobernables, after joining AEW in 2021. With Rush off TV after suffering a hamstring injury in late 2023, La Faccion Ingobernable wasn’t featured on TV much during Jose’s last few months with the company.
Ahead of his AEW departure, he teased his return to the ring, which you can read more about right here.
Jose has wrestled in the past, most recently in 2018, but didn’t ever wrestle a match for AEW.
WWE star Andrade, who previously wrestled for AEW as Andrade El Idolo, recently reacted to Jose The Assistant’s release. You can view Andrade’s reaction at this link.
