Renee Paquette has opened up about her relationship with Michael Cole during her time as Renee Young in WWE.
Paquette joined WWE in 2012 and would quickly become a popular figure on screen as a backstage interviewer and commentator.
She appeared on the Wilde On podcast and spoke about the influence of Cole, saying:
“Even there (in WWE), being in such a male-driven, testosterone kind of world, I was really lucky to be working under somebody like a Michael Cole who was always just the best to work for, so talented
“He always pushed for me and fought for me and wanted me to be doing more and working some more.
“So it’s really nice when you know that other people that you respect see the value in what you’re bringing to the table.
“I think there’s not a better confidence booster than that.”
The pair would share screen time together on the WWE Raw commentary team in 2018 and 2019.
With Paquette’s commentary role on Raw, this would be the first time that WWE had a full-time female commentary.
She would depart WWE in 2020, signing with AEW in October 2022.
