AEW Star Fires Shot At Owen Hart Tournament Bracket?

AEW star Shawn Spears has appeared to fire shots at the company following the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament bracket reveals.

On the June 21 edition of Dynamite, the brackets for both the men’s and women’s tournaments were revealed.

The first-round matches of the tournament set to honor the Canadian wrestling legend will take place on upcoming shows in Canada, with the exception of the Anna JAS vs Skye Blue bout which took place during the tapings for Rampage.

Shawn Spears appears to have highlighted the lack of Canadians in the tournament, sharing the brackets on Twitter with the caption:

My money is on the Canadian 😁🇨🇦

Many fans called for Spears to wrestle in the tournament, following his recent return to the ring.

Spears most recently wrestled for AEW at the June 3 House Rules house show. He has wrestled a handful of matches since his wrestling comeback in March.

CM Punk will compete in the first match of the male bracket of the tournament, facing off against NJPW’s Satoshi Kojima at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2023.

Kojima has now reacted to this match announcement, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
