NJPW star Satoshi Kojima has now reacted to the announcement of his match against CM Punk set for AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2023.
Following uncertainty and speculation surrounding CM Punk’s status for the June 25 pay-per-view, the former AEW World Champion now officially has an opponent for the show.
During the June 21 edition of Dynamite, brackets were revealed for the Owen Hart Foundation tournaments.
In the men’s tournament, CM Punk will face off against former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima at Forbidden Door.
Kojima has now taken to Twitter to express gratitude for this match, writing:
is this a dream?
Now I’m eating bread and looking at this information.
But it must be real.
I’ll do my best thank you.

AEW President Tony Khan replied:
It’s very real, my friend!
See you this weekend!
It was previously reported that there were initially plans for Punk to face KENTA, the originator of the GTS, however plans for this bout were scrapped ahead of last week’s Collision premiere.
