Top AEW Star Explains Why He Doesn’t Think He’ll Ever Be 100% After Recent Injury AEW

A top AEW star has explained why he doesn’t think he will ever be 100% after his recent injury.

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Bryan Danielson defeated Kazuchika Okada in the main event. During the course of the dream match, Danielson suffered a broken arm.

“The American Dragon” made his return to the company at AEW All Out when he defeated Ricky Starks in a strap match.

Since then, Danielson has worked in many different matches despite his arm injury, including his victory over Zack Sabre Jr. at AEW WrestleDream.

Speaking with Sports Nightly, Bryan Danielson provided an update on the injury and revealed that with the metal rod in his arm, it could actually be easier to suffer another break where the rod ends. He said:

“It’s doing okay. I think by continually wrestling on it, I’m slowing it down from healing 100%. Us older wrestlers like to say, we never anticipated being 100% ever again.”

“So I think that’s kind of where I’m at. It’s fully functional. I can do pull-ups and I can do all these different sorts of things,”

“There’s nothing that’s going to happen to the bone because they put a rod in it with nine screws.”

“The dangerous part, the doctor said, is actually where, if it were to break again, it’s easier to break where the rod ends, because the rod itself acts as a fulcrum that it could bend against.”

“But then really, it’s like the nerve and muscle damage. Part of that is because I wrestled for 10 minutes with a broken arm and then part of it is just the work that we do.”

Bryan’s injury has been the focal point in all of his matches since returning to in-ring action, including his recent TNT Championship match against Christian Cage on the October 14 edition of AEW Collision.

Bryan Danielson has hinted at another dream match that he wants to have during his final year as a full-time performer, which you can read here.
