AEW Star Legitimately Attacked By Fan (Video) AEW

**UPDATE – There has been an update on the situation, with the person who attacked Callis said to have been a media person, rather than an angry fan.**

An AEW star was legitimately attacked by a fan at last night’s AAA TripleMania in Tijuana show.

Last night, Don Callis revealed that he would be heading to Tijuana, Mexico, claiming he would be in the corner of El Hijo del Vikingo for his AAA Mega Championship rematch with Kenny Omega.

Prior to the match, Konnan would send Callis to the back, removing him from the match before Vikingo would win clean with a 630 Splash.

However, Callis’ night was not over there, as an angle was shot at the post show press conference, which saw Callis and Konosuke Takeshita jump Kenny.

After the angle was shot where Callis and Takeshita jumped Omega, Callis ended up being jumped legitimately by a fan, which you can see in the video below.

Bryan Alvarez provided information on the incident, saying:

“Everything was an angle up to that point, but then a fan who was apparently upset about what Don had said to Kenny jumped Don from behind, ripped his suit, concussed his eardrum and busted open his mouth while he was trying to choke out Don from behind. Don was screaming profanities at the fan before he was pulled off, and was said to be livid afterwards.”

Callis’ neck and ankle were both said to have been injured in the attack, and Callis is heading to San Diego for medical attention.

Alvarez reiterated that the situation was ‘absolutely not a work’.

Omega and Takeshita will face off on opposite teams in next week’s Blood & Guts match.
