AEW Star Opens Up About Wrestling On Brodie Lee Tribute Show

The Celebration of Life for Brodie Lee was an incredibly emotional night for everyone involved. The show put the Dark Order at the focal point so they could pay tribute to their kayfabe leader. Now, Anna Jay (AKA 99) has opened up about wrestling on the show.

While appearing on Talk is Jericho, Jay described the pressure of performing well in that moment. Here is the full quote:

“It was like a different sort of pressure for that match, just because that day, it wasn’t just about the wrestling, it was about honouring him and his family. So I felt like I obviously had to do good and being in the Dark Order too, so it was a different kind of feeling but it was a good feeling – it was everyone wanting to put on a good show, so I’m glad that we did that show. But it was good, it was a good kind of adrenaline for that.

“It was really cool. I guess I’m glad we all did it together. I feel like it was really good that we did the show. And it was good that the family was there too, and good seeing them and everyone being super loving towards everyone.”

Brodie Lee had talked about personally handpicking Anna Jay’s Dark Order number. He had said 99 was a reference to famous hockey player Wayne Gretzky. Brodie was a huge hockey fan.
