AEW Star Continues To Tease Heel Turn

AEW Star Continues To Tease Heel Turn AEW

An AEW star continued to tease a heel turn on tonight’s edition of AEW Collision (July 22) in the main event.

While CM Punk continued to ham it up in the ring, being equally a heel or a face depending entirely on each fan’s perception, there’s also another AEW star is floating between face and heel as of late.

Ricky Starks continued to tease a heel turn as he not only bragged about his designer clothes and shoes on tonight’s Collision, he also used dubious means to win yet again tonight.

An exchange in the opening segment of the show led to a tag team main event in which Christian Cage teamed with Ricky Starks to take on CM Punk and Darby Allin.

During the match, Starks remained a fan favorite but also in his alliance with Christian Cage, certainly relied upon some heelish behavior.

With the referee’s back turned, Luchasaurus – in Cage’s corner and therefore also Starks’ – knocked down Darby Allin, leaving Starks the chance to capitalize.

Ricky Starks would then score the pinfall victory over Darby Allin, but the win involved Starks grabbin the rope for leverage, just as he had done last week on Collision in the final against Punk,

“Once is an accident, twice is a pattern! Are you kidding me Ricky Starks?” asked commentator Ian Riccaboni before the show went off the air.

A bit more suspiciously, Ricky Starks went on to celebrate on the ramp with ultimate heel (you can tell by his sleeveless turtleneck!) Christian Cage and Luchasaurus a bit, seemingly enjoying flying in the face of his past alliance with Punk.
