An AEW star has teased a future IWGP World Heavyweight Title match.
On January 4, New Japan Pro Wrestling will present Wrestle Kingdom 17 from the Tokyo Dome. The show will be headlined by Jay White vs. Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
NJPW posted a video of AEW star Lance Archer stating that he was interested in finally winning the title.
In response to the video, Archer took to Twitter to call out the winner of the Wrestle Kingdom 17 main event. He tweeted:
“It’s easy. I want to fight the winner of Wrestle Kingdom! @rainmakerXokada @JayWhiteNZ IDGAF! LETS GO! @njpw1972 @njpwglobal Don’t FEAR THE FIGHT!”
Lance Archer represented All Elite Wrestling in the G1 Climax 32 tournament this past summer, ending the tournament with six points after losing to Okada on the final block night.
Archer last appeared in AEW on the November 18 edition of Rampage, losing to Ricky Starks in the World Title Eliminator tournament.
As previously reported, NJPW is planning several surprises for the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 17 event.
