When Paul Wight, the former Big Show, joined AEW, a lot of fans were hoping to see a one off cameo from Captain Insano, a character Wight portrayed in the Waterboy.
AEW trademarked the term for Captain Insano, with the character making an appearance during on of The Acclaimed’s rap videos.
Paul Wight has not wrestled in over 15 months, with his last match taking place on the March 30 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation.
Despite spending over a year out of the ring, Wight reiterates that he is not retired from in-ring competition.
A fan took to Twitter, asking Wight if he would write a book about his life and career.
Wight responded, saying that it wouldn’t happen at least until he retires, before reiterating that he still has chapters to write in his career, including appearances from Captain Insano.
He responded:
Probably not. Well at least not until I retire. I’m still writing chapters in my life.
Going to have fun with Captain Insano before I hang up the boots for good. But thank you for the inquiry
Wight had previously worked as an announcer for the AEW Dark: Elevation show.
