AEW Star Files To Trademark Nickname AEW

AEW star Anthony Bowen has filed to trademark a nickname, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

On Tuesday (April 9), Bowens filed an application with the USPTO to trademark the term “THE SCISSOR KING”.

Per the filing, Bowens intends for this trademark to cover use in categories including “entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests”.

The following description accompanied the filing:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer;

Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network;

Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes

Michael E. Dockins was listed as the attorney for the filing.

Bowens is currently one third of the AEW Trios Champions, alongside Max Caster and Billy Gunn. This trio won the gold from House of Black at AEW All In London in August 2023.

This event is currently in the news as AEW has advertised that backstage footage from the event will be shown on Dynamite. Many believe this will be legitimate backstage footage from an altercation including CM Punk.
