AEW Star Recalls Attending WWE WrestleMania In Disguise: ‘I Love Being In Disguise And Hiding’

AEW star Mercedes Mone has commented on previously attending WWE WrestleMania in disguise to support Bayley.

Great rivals and teammates in WWE, it is well documented that Mone and Bayley are really good friends behind the scenes.

During an interview with the Daily Star, the former “Sasha Banks” was asked about recently revealing that she snuck into a WrestleMania event in disguise to watch Bayley during a recent edition of her Mone Mag blog.

Refusing to reveal which WrestleMania event she attended incognito, Mone said:

“If I wanted to say which match, I would’ve put it in my Money Mag. Everybody knows that Pam is my best friend in wrestling. There’s been many matches I’ve been to, and she’s been to many of my matches too, supporting me.

“When you have people like that in your life, you show up for important things in theirs. I love being in disguise and hiding, and I’m always going to support her because she’s the best.

“We wouldn’t have this beautiful generation of women’s wrestling if she wasn’t part of it. When you have people like that in this world, you have to support them.”

When asked if she believes she will ever lock up with Bayley again in the ring, Mone simply replied:

“You never know in wrestling. That’s always a dream match for me, to have another match with her. She is one of my greatest opponents of all time.

“Of course, everybody knows one of our greatest matches together, Brooklyn. That really changed how people viewed women’s wrestling. It’s always a dream match for me, so you never know.”

Bayley has wrestled in three WrestleMania matches since Mercedes Mone’s WWE departure in 2022.

The Role Model teamed with Dakota Kai and IYO SKY at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, in a losing effort against Becky Lynch, Lita and Trick Stratus.

The following year, Bayley defeated IYO SKY to win the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Bayley didn’t wrestle at WrestleMania 41, with the star “attacked backstage” and replaced by Becky Lynch in her scheduled Women’s Tag Team Championship match.

At WrestleMania 42, Bayley teamed with Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in the Women’s Tag Team Championship fourway, which Paige and Brie Bella ultimately won.

Mercedes Mone and Bayley last shared the ring in six-person tag-team action on the February 19, 2021 SmackDown episode, with their last one-on-one match seeing Sasha Banks victorious via disqualification on the October 9, 2020 show.
