AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe title match gets stipulation

AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe title match gets stipulation

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are mixed up in a fair bit of controversy following their Hell in a Cell battle, with Joe (rightfully) claiming that he should be the current WWE Champion.

Confronting SmackDown Live general manager Paige after the match, Joe demanded a rematch, so Paige made the brave decision to announce a match that had been announced months previously. Tough call there for Paige.

Joe also demanded that the match be a no disqualification match for some reason, despite this finish not being a disqualification. You’d have thought a submission match would have made more sense given that Joe is upset about AJ tapping.

Logic.

Now though, WWE has announced the stipulation for their rematch at the Super Showdown on October 6. Hold on to your hats, because this is a big one.

It will be a “no count outs, no disqualifications and there must be a winner” match. So in other words, No DQ. Stop trying to make things sound more fancy than it is. A normal match isn’t called a “pinfall, submission, count out, DQ, and no contest match”, although maybe it should.

Brock Lesnar’s pay-cheque for WWE Crown Jewel revealed.
