Alexa Bliss peeled off her mean girl veneer in an interview with WSN-TV reporter Chris Van Vliet. She spoke about her beginnings in NXT, her relationship with 205 Live wrestler Buddy Murphy, and Ronda Rousey.
NXT fans may remember Alexa Bliss as being all sparkles and glitter when she debuted in NXT. Though she admitted that this is closer to her actual personality, the superstar is not ready to embrace a face turn anytime soon. “As a good guy I was never booked,” she claimed. She credited her time as Blake and Murphy’s valet for assisting her in morphing into the ‘Goddess’ persona. It’s hard to believe that the woman who admits to crying while cutting her first promo became such a pink haired witch.
Bliss discussed her relationship with Buddy Murphy and the trials and tribulations of being on the road. She confessed that they only see each other once a week but they keep their relationship strong through the use of FaceTime. The two also enjoy trips to Disney when they are able. Alexa, do you ride the teacups and send photos to Nia Jax to prove that you’re not too short?
The champ’s current rivalry with Ronda Rousey also was up for discussion. Despite some trash talk from Rousey, Alexa had positive things to say about the former MMA competitor’s impact on the women’s division.
“She’s great. She’s a really good asset to our women’s evolution and I think she’s just what we need right now. We have women from every background and I think Ronda’s background helps to bring a lot of legitimacy to our women’s evolution.”
Bliss is set to face Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Will the ‘Goddess’ retain or will she fall from grace?
