Another AEW star is seemingly set to turn heel soon following Trent Beretta’s betrayal of the Best Friends on Dynamite.
Trent officially turned heel on Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor on last night’s Dynamite show, laying out Orange Cassidy after the pair lost in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament semi-final to the Young Bucks.
After the show, AEW has shared a digital exclusive featuring Trent meeting up with Kris Statlander backstage, with Kris scolding Trent for betraying his friends and his own mother.
The segment ended with Trent whispering into Statlander’s ear, before walking off, with Statlander thinking about what Trent told her.
The segment seemed to tease a potential future heel turn for Statlander, who many have speculated will end up turning on Willow Nightingale in the next few weeks.
Nightingale is set to challenge Julia Hart for the TBS Championship at AEW Dynasty on April 21.
The winner of the TBS Championship match at Dynasty is set to defend the title against Mercedes Mone at Double or Nothing in Las Vegas.
