It was announced last month that the NXT UK brand would be going on hiatus, with NXT Europe set to start up in 2023.
As such, most of the NXT UK roster either ended up being let go from WWE, or moved over to the United States to be a part of the main NXT 2.0 brand.
While WWE released former NXT UK Tag Team Champion Ashton Smith, his partner Oliver Carter remained a part of the roster, and he’s got a new name and is headed to the US.
WWE aired a hype video for ‘Oro Mensah’ on tonight’s show, showing highlights of Carter’s time on the UK brand. Oro Mensah will be the name used by Carter going forward.
He is set to make his debut on next week’s (September 20) episode of the show.
