WWE SmackDown star Austin Theory has now broken his silence after dropping his US Championship to Rey Mysterio.
While Theory was originally slated to defend his gold against Santos Escobar on the August 11 edition of SmackDown, the now-former champion attacked Escobar twice on the show, leaving him unable to compete.
Rey Mysterio ultimately took Escobar’s place in the title match, and after a 619/splash combo, pinned Theory to become the new US Champion.
Theory has now taken to Twitter for the first time since losing his gold to share a photo of himself.
He captioned the photo:
Always go and get it🚀 #AustinTheoryLive #allday
Theory held the US Championship for 258 days in total, defeating the likes of Seth Rollins and John Cena during his reign.
Santos Escobar has now reacted to Rey Mysterio taking his place in the US Title match, which you can read more about right here.
Austin Theory also previously addressed rumors and claims that Chief Content Officer Triple H was burying him, following speculation that WWE doesn’t want to push him anymore.
