Backstage Reaction To WWE X NASCAR Segment From SmackDown

The latest twist in the Dominik and Rey Mysterio feud took place on last night’s episode of SmackDown, but not in a way many of us would have expected it to.

Earlier in the day, WWE uploaded an altercation that took place between Rey and Dominik at a NASCAR event, with the footage being set to air on SmackDown later that night.

In a wild segment, Dominik and Rey ended up racing each other around a track, NASCAR style, which Rey ended up winning before the aforementioned altercation took place.

The segment came completely out of leftfield, but it seems to have been considered a success from those involved in the segment on the day.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), the talent and crew involved in the production of the NASCAR segment ‘really enjoyed’ how it played out.

The segment saw Rey Mysterio and the New Day face off against the Judgment Day with their respective NASCAR drivers.

With Rhea Ripley choosing Charlotte Flair as her WrestleMania opponent, the Judgment Day will likely appear on more episodes of SmackDown going forward.
