Bayley’s First WWE Women’s Championship Defense Revealed WWE

Bayley’s first defense of her newly won WWE Women’s Championship was revealed on tonight’s April 12 episode of SmackDown.

In an in-ring segment, Bayley was soaking in the praise of the Detroit, Michigan crowd after her big WrestleMania 40 win.

Appearing back on the blue brand for the first time since her win against IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship, the celebration wasn’t very long.

Instead, Tiffany Stratton joined Bayley as she assumed Bayley was announcing an open challenge and was there to answer it.

Bayley however pointed out that she was not offering any such challenge, rather had her eye on a specific opponent to be her first challenger.

Summoning Naomi to the ring, it would lead to match between Stratton and Naomi to determine who would be Bayley’s first title challenger.

In the end, Naomi picked up the win.

It was announced that the WWE Women’s Championship match between Bayley and Naomi will take place on next week’s SmackDown (April 19).

Elsewhere on tonight’s SmackDown, two big Triple Threat matches to determine who would get a future title opportunity against WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

LA Knight beat Lashley and Santos Escobar in the first, whereas the result of Kevin Owens vs. Rey Mysterio vs. AJ Styles saw Styles pick up the win.

Next week on SmackDown, there will be a WrestleMania 40 rematch when AJ Styles takes on LA Knight.

The winner will move on to challenge Cody Rhodes at Backlash in his first defense of the title he won from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
