Botched Finish To Big WWE Match Confirmed

Botched Finish To Big WWE Match Confirmed WWE

A botched finish to a big match with Survivor Series implications on last night’s WWE Raw has now been confirmed.

On the show, a four-way took place to determine the next contender for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series, consisting of The Miz, Ricochet, Bronson Reed and Ivar.

However, the match had a rather awkward finish, with both Miz and Ivar scoring pinfalls at the same time, but Ricochet got his shoulder up before the pin, which painted Miz as the sole winner.

We speculated during the show that the finish didn’t go as planned, as despite Ricochet clearly getting a shoulder up, it caused a lot of confusion both on commentary and online, leading to many believing that the match had a botched finish.

In an update from Dave Meltzer on Twitter, the match did indeed have a botched finish, as Ricochet was not supposed to kick out of the pin, but he was believed to have been rocked earlier in the match.

He tweeted:

Just a note regarding Raw last night. Ricochet was not supposed to kick out of the Ivar moonsault and it was supposed to be a simultaneous double pin. That’s why it came across so awkward on television. I believe Ricochet was rocked earlier in the match when his head hit the mat.

A singles match between Ivar and The Miz has now been announced for next week’s Raw show following the bizarre finish.
