Brandi Rhodes Reveals What Went Wrong With Nightmare Collective In AEW AEW

Brandi Rhodes has revealed what went wrong with the Nightmare Collective in AEW.

During the early days of All Elite Wrestling, Brandi Rhodes aligned with Awesome Kong to form the Nightmare Collective. Along with Luther and Mel, the group became known for cutting the hair of their opponents and victims, but the stable was completely scrapped not too long after it started.

In a new interview with Ring The Belle, Brandi Rhodes revealed that what fans saw on TV was never what the Nightmare Collective was supposed to be. She said:

“It was supposed to be me and Awesome Kong. Awesome Kong the wrestler and me the manager.”

“Awesome Kong had this wonderful idea, she had this artwork sketched and everything of what she wanted her character to be and look like and it was this badass warrior woman who collected these trophies at the end of the matches of cutting off the hair.”

Explaining how Kong’s injury problems halted the entire vision of the group and how she feels AEW hit the panic button, Brandi said:

“The Nightmare Collective was not a me and Awesome Kong collaboration, it was a full creative collaboration. Everybody and their mother had something to add.”

On feeling that way too many people was involved in the creative of the group, Rhodes said:

“Part of the reason why I was really like, ‘Okay it’s time for this to stop,’ [was] because there’s just too many people that have good intentions, too many cooks are in the pot though,”

As previously reported, Brandi Rhodes has also revealed what match would make her come out of retirement elsewhere in the interview.
