AEW Star Re-Signs With The Company AEW

A new report has revealed an AEW star that has re-signed with the company.

As previously reported, Brian Cage has been working with All Elite Wrestling without a contract after his previous deal expired following ROH Supercard of Honor.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Cage has put pen to paper on a new contract with the company this week, and signed a long-term, multi-year deal to stay with AEW and Ring of Honor.

At ROH Supercard of Honor, Cage teamed with the Gates of Agony to defeat Metallik, Blake Christian and AR Fox to retain the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships. At the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan mentioned that he was hoping to keep Cage and The Embassy with the company for a long time.

The report notes that several top talent had pushed for Brian Cage to re-sign, but there was also top talent in WWE who were angling for him to end up there.

WWE had some interest in the former FTW Champion, but he ended up liking the offer from All Elite Wrestling. Cage worked with an agent throughout this process.

In the last couple of weeks, AEW worked hard to get the deal with Cage done. It was agreed upon in principle by the time creative was started to pair Cage and The Embassy with Swerve Strickland.

On the April 7 edition of AEW Rampage, Strickland announced the merger of his Mogul Affiliates stable and The Embassy with Brian Cage attacking Darby Allin on his behalf. Swerve will face Darby on the April 12 episode of AEW Dynamite.
